Creating Opportunity for People and Communities

The Yellowhead Project will be a significant economic driver for the North Thompson region, creating employment, contracting and other opportunities for people and communities throughout the region.

Taseko prioritizes benefits to local people and communities from activities related to our operations and development projects.

Delivering Economic Opportunities

The Yellowhead Project is expected to generate social and economic benefits to the residents of the Thompson-Nicola Region, British Columbia, and Canada as a whole.

The Project will support approximately 2,180 direct and 1,120 indirect and induced jobs during construction and 590 direct and 1,120 indirect and induced jobs during 25 years of mine operations.

In addition to employment, the Yellowhead Project will trigger a host of economic benefits and business development opportunities for local communities, as well as significant new tax revenues for federal, provincial and local governments.

Community Investment

Taseko is proud to support initiatives that help people and communities prosper.

As part of the company's commitment to 360° of Value, Taseko's Beyond Potential Community Investment Program supports local and grassroots organizations that deliver direct, tangible, on-the-ground support to people seeking to better their lives.

Through the program, the company is committed to supporting initiatives that create lasting value and support youth, families, and the communities near its operations and projects.

As the Yellowhead Project progresses, Taseko looks forward to strengthening its relationships and building new partnerships in Barriere and throughout the Thompson-Nicola Valley region.
